I picked up the paper again, looking it over in disbelief. “We all owe you the deepest of apologies.” “I hope one day you might forgive me for my part in this,” the holy man-Langston-said. “Your Majesty,” the same holy man said urgently. I sank into a curtsy, and he bowed in return.Īnd then he dashed from the room, from the castle, from my world. It took everything I had not to cry in front of him. I squeezed it tight one last time and put my hands by my side. I will tell everyone at home of your new reign, and I will write you as soon as I can.” Even if I’m gone, you are not alone in this. Look at everything you’ve already done,” he assured me.

How was I supposed to let him go? After everything we’d been through, after everything we’d finally said, how was I supposed to go even a minute without him? But know that you will always have an ally in Isolte.” He was right.Įtan pulled my hand to his lips again. I have a kingdom of my own awaiting my return.” I don’t think these gentlemen want a foreign king here as they discuss matters of state with their very new queen. I turned to Etan, expecting him to follow. But of all the ways I’d imagined this day ending, none had led me to this, and I couldn’t wrap my mind around being in possession of a kingdom. And, as he had no heirs, that meant the crown went to me. I was, in the most bureaucratic sense, Jameson’s wife. There is much to discuss,” a holy man said. Many were shielding their faces from the sight of a dead body, and many more were speaking furtively, trying to understand how so much had happened in such a few moments. In an instant the holy men were beside me as the guards carefully escorted the courtiers from the Great Hall. Kissing my hand and then touching it to his temple, he whispered, “Your Majesty.”Ī tremble rose from my toes and went all the way to the ends of my hair.
“Long live the queen.”Īnd I stood in silence as an entire room of nobles looked to me.īESIDE ME, ETAN WENT TO a knee. Le sigh, I have so much love for these books. Now more importantly….A holy man went over to him and placed a hand beneath his nose, feeling for a breath. (If anyone makes this happen send me a link!) Actually, I want a Youtube video of people acting out the wedding. I loved her character so much, and then POOF! She’s gone.Īs much as I loved how beautifully the book ended (America and Maxon’s wedding, c’mon you have to love that), I wish we had more detail of it.

BEHIND THE SENCE FOR THE ONE BY KIERA CASS FULL
Full blown squealing, foot kicking, book throwing temper tantrum. There’s drama, there’s more attacks from the rebels, so-much-awesome.įurther in the book, I threw a hissy fit. While America is back home after her father’s death, Maxon eliminates Celeste (who honestly I kind of started to like), and Elise (…she just really annoyed me), so now America’s only competition is… Kriss (ew). So in this instalment, America comes to realize just how badly she wants to be with Maxon. There was action, there was the mush factor, there were tears…lots of tears, there was happiness, Cass just put me on a rollercoaster that I did not want to get off of. The One totally blew that fear away (it huffed and it puffed until all the fear was gone). I loved the other two books so much that I was afraid that this third book just wouldn’t meet my standards (which at this point were quite high). This being said, truthfully I was a little worried to read The One. Often I find that third instalments of a trilogy lack that “umph” factor, and they usually disappoint me. I love, love LOVED this book! Kiera Cass, you wonderful woman, if you ever see this- you are fantastic. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, America realizes just how much she stands to lose-and how hard she’ll have to fight for the future she wants.Īmerica Singer… you frustrating woman, IT’S ABOUT TIME YOU CAME TO REALIZE WHO YOU BELONG WITH! When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown-or to Prince Maxon’s heart. *Warning* This is a sequel, this post contains spoilers.
